As the Sun Went Down – Dancers Were Up @ Sunset Beach Holiday Park in Geraldton

DSCF6569 DSCF6593 DSCF6595 DSCF6604Sunshine and a lovely warm afternoon set the scene to bring out both wine and music lovers at Sunset Beach Holiday Park in Geraldton!  A Wine Tasting happening in the Camp Kitchen and Music on the Lawn — singer, Phil Hanley, regaled his audience with a couple of his own songs plus a variety from bygone eras ….Roy; Elvis; Gene; Johnny and many more.

2 and a quarter hours of non-stop music!    You heard it …..no breaks!   Toes tapping; hands clapping; and plenty of space to dance.  The stayers wanted it to go on ……..still more beer in the esky ;)     Thank you all for your participation and generosity.

Repeat Offenders @ Kalbarri Tudor – 23 August

DSCF6083   DSCF5999

DSCF6017   DSCF6054

Over 60 people rugged up and braved the breeze to enjoy the music and to participate in the RFDS (Flying Doctor) Sausage Sizzle put on by Tammy & Phill and the Kalbarri Tudor Team.

We even had two Repeat Offenders, Roger and Lynne, who extended their stay at Kalbarri Tudor to catch Phil’s performance after previously joining in the fun on a couple of nights at another Top Tourist Park – Wintersun @ Carnarvon, definitely egging him on, wondering ‘loud enough for Phil to hear‘ and with body language …. “who the ? was Alice!”

Phil was happy to be able to do the request for the song – 24 Hours from Tulsa.  Unfortunately the song, Islands in the Stream, has a Dolly Parton part and there was no appearent volunteer to fill the role ;)

ALL the photos are across on Facebook folks – so please LIKE, COMMENT, SHARE and also go across to Kalbarri Tudor’s facebook page to share your own Happy Snaps and to LIKE COMMENT and SHARE there as well -  https://www.facebook.com/kalbarritudor.holidaypark/  and their website  http://www.kalbarritudor.com.au/

Many thanks to Tammy & Phill and Kalbarri Tudor for their hospitality and extra effort.

A Night Out at Hamelin Station – 17 August

DSCF5570 Hamelin Station DSCF5600

The swift cool breeze was no match for the music lovers at Hamelin Station who were out to see what Phil had to offer – http://www.philhanley.com.au -  The venue was a cosy nook with half height stone walls and corrugated iron complete with patio heater.  The only one really copping the breeze was Phil!

Dancers were up on the floor; drummers drumming and the singers singing along.

Loads of beautiful, supportive comments from happy customers.  Thank you all for making such a fun and enjoyable evening.

Sunset and Music at Wooramel Station – 15 August

What a perfect evening to sit outside, tap your toes and sing along to some of the baby boomer favourites AND what a beautiful setting alongside the artesian spa pools and a backdrop of the setting sun!  Ah, but not all were sitting, as we had a few dancers rock n rolling and boot scootin’.

A big thank you to Rachael & Justin of Wooramel Station and their camp hosts Jackie and Glen

FUN & FABULOUS – Wintersun Carnarvon Crowd

DSCF5144 Wintersun Carnarvon DSCF5212

Wow – What a FUN night!!   We had loads of dancers on the floor, down the back, out the side and in the aisles PLUS the line-dancers put on a bit of a floor show; two separate impromptu dance solos that got the crowd going; a Congo Line happening and a wall of voices joining in the chorus lines.  You were just the best raucous bunch of rabble rousers!!!  (tongue in cheek)

AND WHAT ELSE???  What was on the DINNER MENU you might ask?  Well 200 guests enjoyed Roast Beef & Gravy on a big fresh bread roll with fresh coleslaw and potato salad on the side …..followed by an icecream.  YUM!

SPUD NIGHT at WinterSun – Carnarvon

Wintersun Carvarvon DSCF4819

180 ‘loaded’ Giant Spuds had mouths watering in anticipation!  What a great place to be at WinterSun Caravan and Tourist Park at Carnarvon – a great atmosphere and lots of activities to enjoy plus opportunities to mingle and meet the neighbours.

Well sated and with that medicinal wine or beer, revelers set themselves the task of enjoying the music – singing along as well as providing the shadier version of Alice.

Thank you to the WinterSun Team and to Dean and Melissa for their support.  Remember to go and COMMENT, LIKE and SHARE on Facebook   https://www.facebook.com/wintersuncaravanparkcarnarvon/

The Yardie ‘mob’ Showed Up in Force – 2 August

DSCF4570 DSCF4641

A great mob rolled up with chairs and drinks in hand ….. some even Repeat Offenders   :)   The earlier start of 5pm proved a popular move bringing out young families; super oldies and, of course, the music die-hards who always make it to stumps.  The kitchen was running hot as well, with Simon – Chef @ The Desert Reef Cafe at Yardie Homestead – and his offsider (who doesn’t like to be photographed) working their tails off – looking after more than 50 hungry tummies.

Totally recommend the steak – my mouth waters just thinking about it!  The Desert Reef Restaurant @ Yardie Homestead Caravan Park.  Restaurant opens for meals at 6pm, for enquiries contact Simon on 0409 188 452!   –   http://www.yardie.com.au

Dancers Hit the Grass @ Yardie Homestead Caravan Park – 28 JULY

DSCF4437 DSCF4447 DSCF4448 DSCF4478Yardie Homestead Caravan Park is the closest ‘van park to the world famous Ningaloo National Park with its colourful gorges and spectacular coral reefs, and winter home to many southerners escaping the cold; those of us on the big grey exploration loop; tourists – both Aussie and overseas; and the dedicated fisher folk.

Thursday night was a bit of R & R from all the sight-seeing and fishing and an opportunity to let the hair down and hit the grass; just chill out in your chair; or enjoy a scrumptious meal and byo while tapping your toes and listening to the music.

So if you are looking for a bit of winter escapism, head up to Yardie –   http://www.yardie.com.au

The Brave and The Beautiful Rugged Up @ Ocean View Caravan Park, Onslow

DSCF4317 DSCF4281Tricky weather didn’t stop the music!   The brave and beautiful donned jackets and armed with chair and drink dug in to enjoy the entertainment …. lots of toe tapping going on :)    And what a fabulous place to be; sitting out in your own comfy chair on the lush green lawns, up in the refurbished camp kitchen area or undercover of your own annexe for the lucky ones close to the action.

Thanks to Ashburton Shire, the Ocean View Caravan Park and the Managers – Lorraine and Rob and generous audience.     ALL PHOTOS ARE ON FACEBOOK – just look to your right and click across.

They Knew All the Songs – nearly – at Tom Price Tourist Park – 16 July

What a great mob fronted up pretty quick smart on this beautiful Saturday afternoon – a bit of an early start at 4pm BUT right now it gets a bit chilly after sunset …. and the footy was on later which I’m sure a lot wouldn’t want to miss either.  DSCF4089  DSCF4101DSCF4092  DSCF4091

They knew all the songs and there was plenty of clapping and singing along …. the exceptions being for Phil’s own compositions, both well received; Life’s Good and Jacquie My Love (Today We Wed) – the second of which he wrote for his wife Jacquie (that would be me) and this was our actual ‘walking down the aisle’ wedding song.

Thank you again Tom Price Tourist Park for a beautiful venue and for the support of management and staff …. find them @ http://tompricetouristpark.com.au
